What to Expect at Your Initial Appointment With Dr. Hoeper
Most new practice members come to NutriFarmacy with the same question.
What exactly happens during the first visit?
Whether you are new to frequency based medicine or already familiar with natural and holistic care, your initial appointment with Dr. Hoeper is designed to provide clarity, direction, and meaningful progress from day one.
This is not a rushed consultation or a surface level evaluation. The goal of your first visit is to understand what has been happening in your body over time, identify the true source of imbalance, and begin correcting it immediately.
Step One: Health History and Objective Review
Your appointment begins with a detailed review of your health history with Dr. Hoeper. You will discuss your symptoms, when they began, how they have progressed, and what you have already tried. This allows patterns to emerge rather than focusing on isolated complaints.
If you have blood work from the last three to six months, Dr. Hoeper will review it with you. Older labs can also be helpful when they reveal long term trends. Blood work is never required, and most new practice members do not bring any. It is simply one optional tool that can provide additional objective context.
The purpose of this step is to understand your health at a systems level rather than chase individual symptoms.

Step Two: Bioenergetic Scanning with the AO Scan
Next, Dr. Hoeper performs a bioenergetic scan using the AO Scan system.
This scan evaluates over one hundred twenty thousand energetic signatures to assess how your body is responding to stress, nutrition, environment, and internal regulation at the present moment. It provides a functional snapshot of how your system is operating before any treatment is applied.
The AO Scan does not replace traditional diagnostics. It allows Dr. Hoeper to work with greater precision and avoid guesswork by identifying stress patterns and areas of imbalance that may not yet appear on lab work.

Step Three: Evaluation and Treatment in the Same Visit
Your initial appointment with Dr. Hoeper is both an evaluation and a treatment. Information is gathered, analyzed, and applied during the same visit.
Many practice members arrive with multiple symptoms such as anxiety, digestive issues, headaches, fatigue, pain or hormonal concerns. While symptoms matter, they are signals rather than the source of the problem.
Dr. Hoeper looks for the common intersection point where these symptoms overlap. This is typically the weakest or most stressed system in the body and the place where correction will create the greatest overall improvement.

In most cases, three priorities are present:
- What the practice member wants to address
- What appears most serious clinically
- What the body indicates is appropriate and safe to address first
Dr. Hoeper reconciles these priorities to determine the correct starting point for care.
Chemical Contributors to Imbalance
Chemical imbalance does not simply mean supplements.
Chemical stress may include nutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities, toxic burden such as mold or environmental exposure, personal care products, household chemicals, or organ systems that are under functioning or overburdened.
Rather than assuming where the issue lies, Dr. Hoeper queries the body directly to determine what is contributing to dysfunction. For example, digestive symptoms may be influenced by the thyroid, liver, bladder, or immune system rather than the digestive tract itself.
Once identified, chemical stress is addressed through targeted nutrition, dietary adjustments, and removal of interfering substances.
Emotional Contributors and Nervous System Stress
In many chronic health cases, emotional stress must be addressed to achieve lasting change.
Unresolved emotional stress creates a persistent thought feeling action loop. This loop repeatedly triggers stress related neurochemicals that interfere with receptor sites in and around organs. Over time, this can lead to low energy, dysfunction, or overactivity within an organ system.
Dr. Hoeper often explains this by comparing the nervous system to a web browser. When a stressful or traumatic event occurs and there is not enough energy to fully process it, that experience remains open in the system like a browser tab that never closes. Too many open tabs slow everything down.
Addressing the emotional component allows those tabs to close so energy can be redirected toward healing and regulation.
This work is done through precise, body led techniques such as neuro emotional technique, homeopathy, and flower essence therapy. This is not talk therapy. It is a physiological reset of the nervous system.
Structural Contributors and Physical Regulation
The structural component of care focuses on restoring proper communication and movement within the body.
Dr. Hoeper addresses flow and function through the spine and nervous system so the body’s innate intelligence can regulate and heal more efficiently. Structural care may include chiropractic adjustments, network spinal care, cranial and cranial sacral techniques, quantum neurology methods, acupuncture or laser stimulation, acupressure, and origin insertion therapies.
These approaches improve coordination between the brain, spinal cord, and body, allowing stressed systems to regain proper function.
Your Plan Moving Forward
Before you leave your first appointment, Dr. Hoeper provides a clear plan moving forward. This includes how often nutritional or chemical support is needed, how frequently structural care is recommended, and what phases of care to expect as your body adapts and stabilizes.
There is no one size fits all protocol. Care is individualized, strategic, and designed for sustainable progress.
What Makes This Approach Different
Most healthcare models either chase symptoms or on lab values.
Dr. Hoeper’s approach does neither.
Instead of asking what does this symptom need, the question becomes what system is driving all of these symptoms and what does the body need first.
Care is guided by the body’s priorities rather than forcing a predetermined protocol. This makes the process more precise, more efficient, and better suited for chronic or complex health conditions.
Conventional Care vs. This Approach
Most people seeking natural medicine in Pittsburgh have already been through the conventional system. Many have also tried functional medicine, supplements, or alternative therapies with mixed results.
Here is the difference.
Conventional & Symptom-Based Care
- Focuses on managing or suppressing symptoms
- Often separates physical, emotional, and structural health
- Relies heavily on generalized protocols or lab ranges
- Treats one system at a time
- Little room for complex or overlapping conditions
This model can be helpful in acute situations, but it often falls short when symptoms are chronic, layered, or don’t fit neatly into a diagnosis.
Dr. Hoeper’s Approach at NutriFarmacy
- Identifies the root intersection point behind multiple symptoms
- Evaluates chemical, emotional, and structural contributors together
- Uses bioenergetic scanning to guide care with precision
- Treats and evaluates in the same visit
- Follows the body’s priorities instead of forcing a protocol
Instead of asking, “What do we do for this symptom?” we ask, “What system is driving all of this, and what does the body need first?”
This allows care to be more efficient, more targeted, and better suited for chronic or complex health concerns.
