Wagner, R.Ph, M.B.A., Pharm.D., President
As president and co-founder of the Student Rainforest
Fund, Dr. Wagner has led college students interested in medicinal plants
and healing to Belize, Costa Rica and Peru since 1995. He owns NutriFARMACY,
an all-natural pharmacy practice in Wildwood, PA, and practices ethnopharmacy
in Africa and Central and South America.
Dr. Steve Morris, ND,
AHG, Vice President
A leading naturopathic physician from Mulkiteo,
WA , Dr. Morris does botanical medicine work around the world and has
taught about medicinal plants to students in Peru, Belize and Africa.
He is an adjunct professor of ethnobotany at Bastyr University in WA
.
Rosita Arvigo, D.N.
Dr. Arvigo
is a world-renowned herbalist and natural healer and the main teacher
for the SRF students. She is the author of Sastun, Rainforest Home
Remedies, and her newest book, Spiritual Bathing. Dr, Arvigo
is the creator of the Arvigo Mayan Massage Technique.
Douglas H. Kay, Ph.D.
Dr. Kay is a leading advocate
of the Belize trips and the Dean Emeritus of the Mylan School of Pharmacy
at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. He now resides in Biddleford,
Maine, with his wife Dottie.
Mark Plotkin, Ph.D.
A renowned ethnobotanist, Dr. Plotkin has been working with shamans
in South and Central America for 20 years. He is the author of Medicine
Quest, Tales of a Shaman’s Apprentice, and The Killers Within.
Mark is president of The Amazon Conservaton Team (ACT), based in Suriname,
South America.
Beatrice Waight
Mrs.
Waight is a leading healer and herbalist in the Cayo District, Belize,
and runs a health clinic from her home. She has been an instructor for
SRF students over the last eight years.
Wendell Combest,
Ph.D.
Dr. Combest is a professor of pharmacology and pharmacognosy at
Shenandoah University in Virginia. He is a veteran of vetern of four
SRF expeditions to Belize, Costa Rica and Peru.
Mr. Polo Romero
Polo is a well-known
and renowned bushmaster and traditional healer from Belize. He has
been a mainstay teacher to the students since 1995.
Harlan Lahti, B.Sc. Pharm.
He is founder and chairman
of Biomed International, Inc., a leading Canadian-American company developing
quality natural products and herbal medicines. Harlan travels extensively
around the world and has taught students in many countries.
Don Antonio Montero Pisco
Don Antonio Montero Pisco agreed to join our Board of Advisors in 2005.
Don Antonio is one of the most respected and recognized shamans in all
of Peru. He worked closely with the SRF team during our June 2005 visit
to southern Peru. He is well known for his expertise in medicinal plants
and worked closely with Dr. Jim Duke to create the ReNuPeRu program in
the late 1990s.
